Barnes named SCIAC Athlete of the Week

PASADENA, Calif. – The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) named Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's basketball player Madeline Barnes as the SCIAC Female Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 24 - Mar. 2.

Barnes scored 38 points and had nine rebounds to help lead the Athenas to their first SCIAC Tournament title. In the team's 76-72 overtime win over Redlands, she scored a team-high 26 points. In the team's 78-60 win at Chapman, she scored 12 points. In the two games, she was 12-25 from the field and 12-17 from the line. She also had an assist and two steals. CMS is 24-3 overall (most wins in school history).
