Scamman, Barnes named First Team All-SCIAC

PASADENA, Calif. – After winning a share of the SCIAC Championship and their first SCIAC Tournament title, the women's basketball team placed junior guard Kimberly Scamman and senior guard Madeline Barnes on the All-SCIAC First Team the conference announced on Wednesday, March 5.

During SCIAC play Scamman led the Athenas in scoring (15.0), assists (2.8/g) and steals (3.1/g).  She led all conference players in steals and was in the top 10 in scoring (5th), assists (8th) and field goal percentage (45.4 - 9th).

Barnes was second in scoring for CMS (14.1) and 14th in the SCIAC.  She also finished 5th in the conference in free throw percentage (76.1) and 14th in field goal percentage (40.7).  Barnes earned Second Team All-SCIAC honors last season.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was established in 1915. The league is currently comprised of nine private colleges and universities in Southern California: California Institute of Technology, California Lutheran University, Chapman University, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, University of La Verne, Occidental College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, University of Redlands, and Whittier College. The conference recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly and annual basis.
