Steve Endemano

HMC '71

Steve Endemano is considered by most to be one of the best two-sport athletes in CMS history.  As a track athlete, he held the school record in the decathlon from 1969 to 1992 and in the 400 hurdles from 1967 to 1998.  He was an NAIA All-American in the decathlon when he placed eighth with a score of 6,281 points.  He was the track team captain as a senior in 1971.

In the fall, Endemano played both ways for the Stag football team.  He was a halfback on offense and a defensive back on defense.  He virtually never left the field because he also returned punts and kickoffs as well.  He still holds school single-game records for points (30) and longest punt return (89 yds - TD).  He holds season records for most punt returns (21), most punt return yards (274) and most interceptions (8).  He holds career records for punt returns (65), punt return yards (800), yards per punt return (12.3), yards per kickoff return (23.5), interceptions (18) and for all-purpose yards (4900).  After graduation, he tried out for the NFL.
