All-Academic scholar athletes released by USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – The US Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the All-Academic Individuals from the 2014-15 track and field season on July 17. Nine CMS student-athletes earned All-Academic honors as individuals.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards: 1) competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or 2) finished the regular season ranked in the national top 35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.

For the Athenas, freshman Aiyanna Cameron-Lewis (CMC), freshman Brina Jablonski (CMC), sophomore Carmen Mejia (SCR), sophomore Vaiva Palunas (SCR), junior Bridget Blum (CMC), Sara Mostatabi (CMC ’15), and Kaitlyn Spees (Scripps ’15) earned All-Academic honors.

Joshua Sealand (HMC) and Elan Bernstein (CMC ’15) were named to the men’s All-Academic Team.

Both the Stags and Athenas earned All-Academic honors as teams as well, recording cumulative GPAs of 3.24 and 3.43 respectively.
