Qualifiers announced for Track & Field Championships
INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA announced on Sunday, May 17, the participants in the 2015 NCAA Division III Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships. The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps team travels with 13 qualifiers.
For the Athenas, sophomore Vaiva Palunas (SCR) will compete in the discus throw; freshman Tyra Abraham (SCR) in the 100m dash and in the 4x100m relay; freshman Aiyanna Cameron-Lewis (CMC) in the 400m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay; sophomore Carmen Mejia (SCR) in the 800m and 4x400m relay; senior Sara Mostatabi (CMC) in the 5,000m and 10,000m; junior Bridget Blum (CMC) in the 5,000m; sophomore Hanna Tarleton (CMC) in the 400m hurdles, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay; senior Madison Knaub (CMC) in the 4x100m relay; and freshman Brina Jablonski (CMC) to round out the 4x400m relay.
For the Stags, junior Evan Molineux (CMC) and Joshua Sealand (HMC) will both compete in the 1,500m race; Sealand again in the 5,000m; sophomore Matt Wong (CMC) in the long jump and triple jump; and senior Elan Bernstein (CMC) in the javelin throw.
For each men's individual event contested, including the decathlon, the top 20 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each women's individual event contested, including the heptathlon, the top 22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top 16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
The championships will be held May 21-23 at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York.
