Erving finishes fifth at NCAA Championships

Ellyn Erving jumped a personal best in the triple jump at the NCAA Track & Field Championships to finish fifth and earn All-American honors.  She jumped 12.11m (39-9.75) and her finish earned CMS four points in the team competition where they finished tied for 56th.

CMS had three additional athletes compete at the championships.  Matt Wong jumped 6.95m (22-9.75) and finished 10th in the men's long jump.  Allison Barnwell ran 10:59.37 to finish 12th in the women's steeplechase.  She ran 10:58.11 in the preliminaries to qualify for the final.  Hanna Tarleton ran 58.23 in the 400 and finished 22nd.  Erving also competed in the long jump where she finished 13th with a mark of 5.38m (17-8).
