DMR record highlights Rossi Relays performances

Evan Molineux, Mac Hightower, Justin Jones and Alex Lombardo combined to break the CMS record in the distance medley relay to highlight the performances by the host Stags and Athenas at the 18th Annual Rossi Relays on Saturday.  The team ran 10:03.94 to break the previous record that was set last year by a completely different foursome and won the race by over 20 seconds.

24 teams from Division I, II, III and NAIA and over 800 athletes competed at the meet.  The top performance in the meet was in the men's high jump.  Eure Yanez of Venezuela set the stadium record at 2.23m (7-3.75).

CMS top-ten performances were turned in by Jon Briskman, Matt Wong and Vaiva Palunas.  Briskman is now number two in CMS history in the men's 3000 meters with a time of 8:36.83, Palunas is number nine in the women's shot put with a mark of 35-2 while Wong is number 10 in the men's long jump with a mark of 22-08.  CMS won the second section of both the men's and women's 3000 meters.  Allison Rigby won the women's race with a personal best time of 10:51.88 and Jack Wilson won the men's race with a collegiate best time of 9:01.72.

CMS returns to action on March 8 as they begin SCIAC competition at home against Cal Lutheran and La Verne.
