CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior pitcher/infielder Chloe Amarilla was one of 50 players in the nation who were named to the the 2019 Schutt Sports/NFCA Division III National Player of the Year watch list, the NFCA announced today.

The list is compiled annually by the NFCA's Division III All-America committee. The list will subsequently be cut to 25 and 10 as the season progresses, before the winner is chosen following the completion of the NCAA Championship.

She appeared in all 46 games, leading the SCIAC in hits (65), while leading the Athenas in runs scored (38), doubles (14), batting average (.428), and on-base percentage (.466). She also tallied 26 RBI and eight stolen bases, and had a 20-game hitting streak that lasted for over a month.

As a pitcher, Amarilla earned an 11-5 record in the circle with a 2.49 ERA. She tossed first-career no-hitter against Hamline (Mar. 17) and picked up a career-high nine strikeouts against Fontbonne (Mar. 4). She also earned the win on opening day this season against Whitworth, a 7-2 victory in which she allowed three hits.
