Gurr and Troutman represent Athenas on All-Region Teams

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – During the 2017 campaign, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team was led by junior pitcher Anna Gurr (CMC) from the circle and sophomore center fielder Ande Troutman (CMC) on both sides of the ball. Both Gurr and Troutman were selected to All-Region Teams from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) for their successes this season.

This marks Gurr's second First Team All-Region nod as she was named the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Year for the second year in a row. She recorded a 0.90 ERA after 194.2 innings pitched, and ranks seventh nationally. Behind Gurr, the team held a .973 fielding percentage that sits in 14th in the country. With the First Team award, Gurr is now eligible for NFCA All-American consideration.

Troutman earns her first All-Region Second Team honor after being named the SCIAC's Newcomer of the Year. She led the conference in batting average at .433 and then hit two homeruns in the first game of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Her superb play in center field also earned her First Team All-SCIAC honors.
