Softball earns NFCA Top-10 Academic Team honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps softball team has been honored as a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top 10 Academic Team, as announced on Oct. 13. With a 3.532 combined GPA, the Athenas ranked No. 8 in Division III. After the 2010-11 season, CMS ranked No. 6 with a 3.512 team GPA.

Additionally, ten players were recognized as NFCA All-America Scholar-Athletes, recording higher than a 3.5 GPA: Melanie Carlson (CMC), Madeleine Edwards (SCR), Briana Halle (CMC), Andrea Jewett (CMC), Shannon O'Neill (CMC), Brooklyn Robinson (SCR), Chloe Rodman (CMC), Carly Roleder (CMC), Molly Rubidoux (CMC) and Elaine Wang (CMC),
