CMS Men's Cross Country Earns Second at NCAA Regionals

SPOKANE, Wash. - Henry Pick returned to form with a second-place finish and the CMS men's cross country team earned second as a team at the NCAA West Regionals on Saturday, hosted by Whitworth.

Pick, who finished third at nationals last year when he took 40 seconds off the CMS record for an 8K, ran a 24:29.3 as he made a big leap forward after just missing All-SCIAC honors (21st) two weeks ago. Pick was the SCIAC Champion, finished second at the regionals, and third at nationals last year.

He wasn't alone in the top 10 for the Stags either, as Adam Sage came in sixth with a 24:41.6 and Miles Christensen was eighth in 24:44.7.

Charles Albach (23rd, 25:10.4) and Oliver Pick (26th, 25:13.0) rounded out the five CMS scorers and earned All-West Region honors in the process. Nick Taubenheim also earned all-region distinction by coming in 33rd with a 25:32.9.

After finishing second at regionals, CMS will next await a potential bid to nationals next week in Lansing, Michigan, which would be the 14th straight season that the Stags have qualified as a team if they earn the bid.
