Bio

My name is Kyril van Schendel and I am an incoming freshman at Claremont McKenna College. I am originally from Brooklyn, NY, but for the past 4 years I have attended a boarding school in Santa Barbara, CA. Ever since I first came to California, I have been blown away by the beautiful running weather and friendly aura that most people have here. However, my Russian proficiency has definitely declined as a result of not spending as much time around my parents! Regardless, I am excited to continue my running career here for the CMS team. My current PR’s stand at 4:23 for the mile and a 9:35 for the 2 mile. However, after being ineligible to compete my senior year, I spent my senior year experimenting with 10 mile trail races and triathlon competitions. Seeing that I will be able to compete again, I am excited to join a team of runners who can keep me accountable and help me grow as a runner.
