Four Stags in Top-15, Team Places Second at Biola

FULLERTON, Calif. – Racing in their second meet of the season, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's cross country team took on nine other teams in the Biola Invitational. After running through the hills and muddy grounds of Craig Regional Park, the Stags finished with a team score of 56 points and finished in second-place. The host Biola Eagles won the Invitational with a score of 33.

The Stags finished with four runners in the top-15 in the race, including Thomas D'Anieri (CMC) who finished second overall in the race. The sophomore set a personal record at the meet with a time of 25:06.21, beating his previous lowest time of 25:45.5 from last season at the NCAA Championship. Ben Iten (HMC) took eighth with a time of 25:53.68 while freshman Gage Hornung (HMC) impressed in his Biola Invitational debut after taking 13th overall and clocking in at 26:10.87. 

Senior Kevin Huang (HMC) took 15th with a time of 26:19.37 and sophomore Wilson Ives (HMC) was the last CMS runner to record points in the final standings, taking 18th with a time of 26:29.32. 

Kyle Suver (HMC) and Stevie Steinberg (HMC) followed right behind Ives, taking 19th and 20th, respectively. Suver crossed after 26:29.68 while Steinberg was timed at 26:29.84. 

The Stags will head over to the Inland Empire for the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday, September 16 at 7:30 a.m.
