Four new members were inducted into the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletics Alumni Association Hall of Fame at the 2018 Hall of Fame Banquet and induction ceremony on Saturday, Nov. 10. The ceremony was held at Claremont McKenna College's Marian Miner Cook Athenaeum, marking the 28th Hall of Fame induction class at CMS.

For the 10th-straight year and 30th time in program history, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athletic Department claimed the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Combined All-Sports Trophy. The Athenas earned 94 points this season and won the All-Sports Trophy on the women’s side by a 19-point margin, claiming their eighth-straight and 23rd overall. The Stags finished third in the standings on the men’s side with 65.5 points. Pomona-Pitzer won the men’s All-Sports Trophy.

On a windy and damp Saturday morning, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s cross country team capped off the 2017 season with a run in the National Championships. The Stags finished in 29th overall (688 points) in the 32-team field. Kevin Huang (HMC) and Thomas D’Anieri (CMC) finished in the top 100, in 85th and 93rd respectively.

Just outside of St. Louis, in Elsah, Ill. the men’s and women’s cross country teams will race in the NCAA Championships at the North Farm Facility on Saturday morning. The women’s team enters the National Championship as the fifth-ranked team in the country and an automatic qualifier from the West Region after claiming the regional title last weekend by 51 points over the second-place team.

The No. 27 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s cross country team finished third in the team standings of Saturday’s NCAA West Regional. The Stags finished with a team score of 103 to trail, second-place UC Santa Cruz (90 points) by 13. Pomona-Pitzer had four of the top ten finishers to win the team title with a score of 35. Thomas D’Anieri (CMC) led the Stags with a seventh-place finish in a time of 25:31.50. Senior Kevin Huang (HMC) placed 11th to ensure his spot in next weekend’s National Championship. Both D'Anieri and Huang have, at the very least, claimed their spot as individuals in the final race of the season.

On Saturday morning, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps cross country teams will make the short walk across the street to Pomona-Pitzer to race in the NCAA West Regional. The Athenas enter the race ranked as the top team in the region and sixth team in the country while the Stags stand third in the region and 27th nationally. The women’s race will begin at 9:00 a.m. while the men will start at 10:00 a.m.

Late Thursday afternoon the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) announced the All-Conference teams for men’s cross country. Sophomore Thomas D'Anieri (CMC) and senior Kevin Huang (HMC) were among the 20 student-athletes honored, both earning First Team accolades.

Thomas D'Anieri (CMC) Kevin Huang (HMC) finished in the top ten on Saturday morning to help the No. 25 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s cross country team to a third-place finish at the SCIAC Championships. Running at Prado Park in Chino, D’Anieri crossed the line in 25:49.59 to finish the SCIAC Championships in third-place. Kevin Huang (HMC) joined D'Anieri in the top ten with a seventh-place finish in a time of 26:10.81 in the 8K race.

Tomorrow morning, the Stags and Athenas begin the postseason with the SCIAC Championships on Saturday morning at Prado Regional Park in Chino, Calif. The morning will kick off with the men getting underway at 9:00 a.m. The women’s race will follow at 9:45 a.m. The Athenas head into the postseason ranked No. 5 in the country while the Stags check-in at No. 25 in Division III.

On Saturday morning the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s cross country team took the top spot in a 12-team field for their third team victory of the season. The Stags finished with 56 team points, six points ahead of second-place Pomona-Pitzer (62 points), to take first place.

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – The Stags’ cross country team ran in the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday morning and finished ninth among non-Division I institutions. CMS finished with a team score of 223 in the non-DI category placing them as the second-highest finishing Division III institution in the competition.

Racing in their second meet of the season, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s cross country team took on nine other teams in the Biola Invitational. The Stags finished with a team score of 56 points and finished in second-place. The host Biola Eagles won the Invitational with a score of 33.
