Matt Huerta is a sophomore at Harvey Mudd College. He originally hails from Washington, DC, where he attended St. Anselm’s Abbey School and ran both cross country and track under head coach Bryan Taylor for all four years of high school. He is also proud to call the ski town of Park City, UT a second home.

During this upcoming cross country season, Matt hopes to carry over the improvement trend that he had throughout the previous track season. He hopes that his high-altitude summer training in Park City, as well as an improved mindset, will help him accomplish this goal. His favorite run - a run on the high-altitude Wasatch Crest Trail along the ridge of Big Cottonwood Canyon, Utah - always serves to remind him of all the benefits that running has to offer.

Outside of running, Matt enjoys skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. He also hopes to try surfing at least once during his four-year stay in sunny Southern California.
