Zack Rossman Captures Academic All-District Honors for CMS Men's Water Polo

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior men's water polo player Zack Rossman was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District 8 team in a vote of the district's SIDs, the organization announced today.

By earning Academic All-District distinction on the Division III At-Large team (which includes nominees from numerous different sports), Rossman is now eligible for CoSIDA Academic All-America honors, which will be announced in June. Rossman was one of 16 student-athletes chosen from District 8, which included student-athletes from the district's wrestling, swimming and diving, tennis, golf, lacrosse and water polo teams.

Rossman was a three-time All-American for the Stags over his career, earning first-team honors once and second-team honors twice. He was a first-team All-SCIAC selection three years in a row as well, while scoring 160 goals in his four-year career and added 78 assists for 238 points.

This year, Rossman finished with 37 goals and 29 assists to help lead CMS to a runner-up finish in the SCIAC and to the finals of the inaugural USA Water Polo Division III national championship. He scored two of his goals against No. 1 USC at the Inland Empire Classic, and added a goal and an assist against a Pepperdine team that reached the Final Four.

In the classroom, Rossman carried a 3.85 grade point average as a Claremont McKenna student who majored in computer science at Harvey Mudd while minoring in economics. He was an Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-Academic Outstanding selection, which is the highest level of the award for student-athletes with a 3.7 GPA or higher.
