Ten Different Stags Score in Victory at Caltech

PASADENA, Calif. - Led by three goals from Noah Deer (CMC), 10 different Stags scored in a 13-6 victory over the Caltech Beavers on Saturday morning. Claremont-Mudd-Scripps fell into a 3-1 hole after just six minutes of the match, but rattled off eight-straight goals to take a commanding 9-3 lead.

Between the pipes, Ethan Lewis (CMC) made 14 saves while picking up three steals to secure the seven-goal victory.

Caltech's Steven Csaposs assisted on a goal and scored two of his own in the first 5:30 of Saturday's match to help the Beavers to an early 3-1 lead. With under 30 seconds left in the first period, Eric Thvedt (CMC) cut that lead to just one at 3-2.

The Stags flipped the lead in their favor prior to halftime by shutting the Beavers out in the second period. Robert Driscoll (CMC) and Christian Thornton (CMC) each scored in the period to give CMS the 4-3 lead at the half.

CMS came out hot in the second-half with six goals in the third period, including the first five tallies. Noah Deer scored twice in the period and after Charlie Thomson (CMC) scored the final goal of the third, the Stags held a 10-4 lead.

Deer, CJ Box (CMC), and Barron Banta (CMC) all scored in the fourth quarter to push the Stags to the 13-6 victory.

The victory moves the Stags to 10-12 overall and 5-4 in the SCIAC. CMS will be off until next Saturday when they host a pair of matches against Pomona-Pitzer (11:00 a.m.) and Pepperdine (3:00 p.m.) on Oct. 28.
