Taylor and Deer named to All-American Team
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) announced the 2016 Men's Division III Water Polo All-America teams on Dec. 15. Senior Ellison Taylor (CMC) and junior Noah Deer (CMC) earned First Team nods while senior Alex Waggoner (CMC) was recognized as an Honorable Mention.
Both Deer and Taylor also represented CMS on the All-Conference First Team from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC). This is Deer's first All-America honor while Taylor was an Honorable Mention in the 2015 season. Waggoner earns his second All-America mention after being named to the Second Team in 2015.
Head coach Greg Lonzo adds, "They were consistent leaders throughout the season. This is a great honor for these players and it demonstrates how the team was successful: inside defense and inside offense."
The Stags wrapped up the 2016 campaign at 16-16 overall and 8-3 in conference play, finishing second in the SCIAC.
