Men's Water Polo NCAA Championships Preview

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's water polo team earned a spot in the 2015 National Collegiate Men's Water Polo Championship with their undefeated record in conference play (11-0) and winning the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) Championships.

The field of six teams was announced by the NCAA on Nov. 22. Read the release here. Four teams were selected through automatic qualification with two selected as at-large bids. CMS earned the AQ from the SCIAC and is seeded No. 6. The other competing teams are: No. 1 UCLA, No. 2 California, No. 3 Southern California, No. 4 Princeton, and No. 5 UC San Diego.

In the new format for the tournament, two play-in games happen first to narrow the field to four teams. Both play-in games will be played at USC on Thursday, Dec. 3 at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center. Princeton and UC San Diego square off at 5 p.m. and then CMS faces the host school, USC at 7 p.m.

The Semifinals and Finals will follow on Dec. 5 and 6, hosted at UCLA.
