12 match unbeaten streak at No. 1 singles between January 21 and March 25 where he ranked No. 1 or No. 2 nationally...battled lower extremity injuries in April and May but still won four of his last six duals...also played 31 doubles matches with Katzman, Freer and Carroll (once) primarily at Nos. 1-2...completed the 2022 season with overall records of 23-5 in singles and 18-13 in doubles, ranked No. 1 in the west and No. 12 nationally...won the ITA Senior Player of the Year and was a nominee for the ITA Most Improved Senior in the West Region...was named SCIAC Athlete of the Year and SCIAC Character Award for men's tennis, as well as 1st Team All-SCIAC...was also SCIAC Athlete of the Week for the weeks of Feb 14 and March 21...one of two SCIAC athletes from any sport nominated for the inaugural D3 Commissioner's Association Men's Sport Athlete of the Year...on campus, he earned the CMC Senior Student-Athlete of the Year, and the 2022 Henry A. Krieger Award, which recognizes student leadership, athletic accomplishments, and academic excellence...also voted Most Valuable Player by his teammates...concludes a Stags Tennis (playing) career with overall records of 54-17 in singles, giving him the 16th best winning percentage (.761) in CMS history...and 72-25 in doubles, the 18th best career winning percentage (.742) in Stags Tennis history...his combined singles and doubles career win percentage (.750) places him 10th all-time...Liu and Katzman finish as the 9th best team in Stags history for career wins (45), and 5th for career winning percentage (.763).
