Julian Gordy Chosen to Google Cloud Academic All-District Team for No. 1 CMS Men's Tennis

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Julian Gordy, a senior on the top-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's tennis team, was chosen to the Google Cloud At-Large Academic All-District team in a vote of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced today.

By earning a spot on the Google Cloud At-Large Academic All-District team, Gordy is now eligible for Academic All-America honors, which will be announced later this month. The At-Large Team includes student-athletes from multiple different sports, including tennis, lacrosse, golf, swimming and diving, ice hockey, and water polo.

Gordy is a two-time All-American in doubles for the Stags, and currently plays at No. 1 doubles and No. 3 singles for CMS, which heads to the NCAA Championships next week in Kalamazoo, Michigan as the top seed with a 31-1 record on the year. He has tallied 49 wins this season for CMS, including 20 in singles (where he has a 17-4 record in duals) and 29 in doubles, raising his career total to 155 wins over his four seasons.

An economics-accounting major at Claremont McKenna, Gordy is a three-time SCIAC All-Academic Team selection and a three-time ITA Scholar-Athlete selection during his career (with his fourth honor in both expected later this spring).

CMS will open play at the NCAA Division III Championships on Monday against Bowdoin in the quarterfinals, standing three wins away from the program's third national title. After the team championships conclude on Wednesday with the finals, Gordy and junior Nikolai Parodi will continue on in the NCAA Division III Doubles Championships, which get underway on Friday, May 24.
