CMS Tennis joins the ranks of elite programs that use PlaySight SmartCourt technology

CLAREMONT, Calif. - This season thanks to the generous support of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Tennis alumni and friends, the CMS Tennis Stags and Athenas have become one of the first programs in NCAA Division III to train with the PlaySight SmartCourt, an advanced sports video and analytics technology.

Only a handful of elite collegiate tennis programs in the country (USC, North Carolina, Harvard and Stanford to name a few) currently use this technology, and CMS is tremendously grateful to now train with the PlaySight SmartCourt as well.

This system provides CMS student-athletes and coaches with a state-of-the-art training tool, and alumni and fans the ability to watch the action live all season long, from each court. In addition to live streaming capabilities, the system uses advanced image processing and analytical algorithms to capture and log stroke type, ball trajectory, speed and spin, in-depth shot data, player movement, and more.
