Stags bounce back from rain delay, stop #14 Williams 7-2

When the rain drops began to fall late Wednesday afternoon at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center, #2 CMS Stags Tennis trailed #14 Williams 1-0 with matches at #1 and #3 doubles suspended at 5-all and 6-all. CMS came out of the hour plus delay and earned service breaks almost immediately, taking a 2-1 advantage into the singles.

Senior Lestter Yeh (Arcadia, CA) and junior Glenn Hull (Brookings, OR) won at #3 doubles to even the match, then won at #5 and #2 singles as the Stags pulled away from the Ephs. Yeh, who rallied back from a set and a break down, was one of five Stags to earn singles victories on Wednesday. CMS continued to get great support from the top of their lineup, as Hull and senior captain Skyler Butts (Santa Ana, CA) won in straight sets. Junior Max Macey (Wilton, CT) also won in straight sets after winning the first eight games of his match at #4.

CMS improves to 15-2 overall and returns to SCIAC play on Friday, April 1 at 3:00 PM against #8 Pomona-Pitzer.
