Seniors Alex Johnson (Thousand Oaks, CA), Matthew Ellis (Mercer Island, WA), and Alex Lane (Claremont, CA) and sophomore Nikolas Marino (San Diego, CA) all earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for achieving a 3.5 GPA or better for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Three Stags Earn ITA All-American Honors

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) has announced the 2013 All-America Teams for Men's NCAA Division III and CMS had three men selected to the team. Warren Wood earned All-American honors in singles and doubles, Neel Kotrappa earned All-American honors in singles and Joe Dorn earned All-American honors in doubles.
Stags Tennis Recruiting Class Ranked #2 in Division III

TennisRecruiting.net has ranked CMS as having the #2 recruiting class in Division III for the Class of 2013. The recruiting website had ranked CMS' incoming class as 24th among mid-major programs nationally. The Stags' 2013 class includes four-star recruits Max Macey (Weston, CT), Daniel Morkovine (San Carlos, CA), and Glenn Hull (Davis, CA).
Settles Honored As USPTA California Men's College Coach of the Year

#1 CMS Stags Tennis defeated #3 Amherst 5-0 in the NCAA Team Championship Semifinals on Tuesday at Stowe Stadium in Kalamazoo, Michigan. A dramatic doubles sweep followed by convincing straight set wins at #3 and #6 singles advanced the Stags to their first NCAA Championship match since 1994.

#1 CMS Stags Tennis earned a 5-2 victory against #11 Middlebury in the NCAA Team Championships Quarterfinals on Monday in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Freshman Skyler Butts (Santa Ana, CA) won at #2 doubles and #4 singles, as the Stags rallied from a 2-1 deficit to win the last four matches and advance to the semifinals.
Four Stags Earn All-Conference Accolades

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference announced Tuesday that four Stags earned All-Conference accolades. Sophomore Joe Dorn (Washington D.C.) was named Newcomer of the Year for his exceptional play at #2 singles and #1 doubles, while also being named to the All-Conference 1st Team. Dorn is joined on the SCIAC All-Conference 1st Team by doubles partner and Stags #1 singles player Warren Wood (So. - Del Mar, CA). Sophomore Nikolas Marino (San Diego, CA) and senior Alex Lane (Claremont, CA) were named to the All-Conference 2nd Team.

#1 CMS Stags Tennis defeated #5 Cal Lutheran 5-1 to advance to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Team Championships in Kalamazoo, Michigan. CMS has now advanced to the NCAA D3 final eight for the past four years and six of the last eight.

CMS will host the opening rounds of the NCAA Division III Men's Tennis Chamionships this Friday through Sunday, May 10-12 at the Biszantz Family Tennis Center. CMS enters the 2013 NCAA team tournament as the #1 seed in the field and top seed in the West Regional.
