Stags Advance to Semis of National Indoors

CMS Men's Tennis won its opening round at the ITA National Indoors in St. Peter, MN on Friday, defeating sixth ranked DePauw University 7-2. The Stags were led by sophomore Lawrence Wang (Orange, CA), who won at second doubles with partner Guillaume Schils (Shaker Heights, OH), and then won at #1 singles.

The Stags got out to a 3-0 lead after the doubles with a victory at #2 and two tie-brake wins at #1 and #3. At #3, seniors Eric Chow (Sunnyvale, CA) and Evan Feldhausen (Tucson, AZ) fought back from 6-7 down and their opponents serving for the match.

In the singles, freshman Eric MacColl (Greenbrae, CA) was first to start at #5 singles. MacColl battled back from a set down to secure the Stags victory and put CMS up 5-0. Chow and senior co-captain William Ellison (Shaker Heights, OH) were also singles winners at #2 and #3.

On Saturday, the Stags play tournament host and #2 seed Gustavus Adolphus College at 2:00 PM CST / 12 Noon PST. CMS
