Cal Baptist Edges Stags 5-4
CMS travelled to Cal Baptist University to take on the #21 ranked NAIA team in an afternoon match, where they lost a hard fought 5-4 decision. The Stags took an early 2-1 lead after the doubles when #1 pair Ben Hough (Spokane, WA) and Jack DePaolo (Asheville, NC) won the final six points of the tie-breaker to earn a 9-8(3) win.
After the doubles, the Stags won at #5 and #6 singles, with Spencer MacColl (Greenbrae, CA) and Thomas Keiffer (La Jolla, CA) earning straight set victories. However, CMS lost two tough three-set matches at #1 and #3 singles and could only manage wins in two of the six singles matches before narrowly losing 5-4.
