Jack Griffith Earns SCIAC Diver of the Week Accolades

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Jack Griffith of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps swimming and diving team was named the SCIAC Men's Diver of the Week for season-opening events through Sunday, Oct. 30, the league office announced today.

Griffith took first place in the one-meter dive in the opening meet for CMS against against Division I UC San Diego with 259.50 points, winning by a margin of 15.52 points. It was one of three individual wins for the Stags, who tested themselves on opening day against the Division I Tritons. 

It marks the third SCIAC Diver of the week honor for Griffith, who captured it twice last year, including after his debut performance against UC San Diego. The CMS swimming and diving programs also swept both diving awards this week, with Izzy Doud taking it on the women's side. 

CMS will be back in action on Saturday when it opens SCIAC competition with a road meet at Occidental.
