CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's swimming and diving team won all 16 events, led by two individual wins apiece from Marco Conati, Walter Limm and Frank Applebaum, as it opened the 2021-22 season with a dominant 233-58 win over Occidental on Saturday afternoon at Axelrood Pool.

CMS began the day with Cyrus Gaylord taking first in the three-meter dive, with teammate Jack Griffith later adding the one-meter win. In the first swimming event, the Stags took the 200 medley relay with Nick Tan, Limm, Conati, and Dylan Krueger finishing in 1:35.85 (CMS also finished second and third in the event).

The first individual event of the afternoon saw Grant Stucky take the 1000 free in 10:10.46, winning by over 11 seconds. Chris Ranlett followed with a win in the 200 free, while Krueger (100 back), Limm (100 breast), Applebaum (200 fly) and Conati (50 free) sent CMS into the first intermission with a string of wins.

After Griffith picked up his one-meter win during the swimming intermission, Conati helped the Stags pick up where they left off with a win in the 100 free. Anderson Breazeale took first in the 200 back, Lucas Lang won by over 12 seconds in the 500 free, and Nathan Luis earned first in the 100 fly to make CMS 14-for-14 heading into the final intermission.

Applebaum added his second win of the day in the 200 IM in a close race with Tan, taking it by just over a half-second, 1:56.54 to 1:56.96. The Stags then closed with a win in the 400 free relay, with Breazeale, Conati, Luis and Krueger clocking a winning time of 3:09.58.
