Swim and Dive Teams, Athletes Recognized for Academic Excellence By CSCAA

The College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has named its Scholar All-America Teams for the Spring 2018 Semester and both the men's and women's swimming & diving teams from Claremont-Mudd-Scripps are included. The CSCAA also released the individuals selected as Scholar All-Americans, and six Stags along with six Athenas earned the distinction.

The CSCAA recognizes teams with the Scholar All-America Award for achieving a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The Stags had a combined 3.28 grade-point average, and the Athenas posted a 3.41 GPA.

As for the individual All-Americans, sophomore Bryn Edwards (CMC), first-year Natalia Orbach-Mandel (HMC), junior Emma Stacy (SC), freshman Janet Tran (CMC), and first-year Allie Umemoto (SC) were selected, along with Lizzie Carrade who was an honorable mention All-American.

For the Stags, sophomore Kendall Hollimon (CMC) and sophomore Sam Willett (CMC) are All-Americans, while sophomore Ben Culberson (CMC), junior John Everett (CMC), sophomore Dave Makhervaks (HMC), and senior Grant Murray (HMC) earned honorable mention All-America distinction.

The individual award recognizes students that have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and competed at their respective NCAA/NAIA/NJCAA Swimming and Diving Championships.
