Pair of All-American performances cap off Stags' 7th place finish at NCAAs

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A pair of All-American performances on the final day of the NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships by the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's swim team, capped off a seventh place finish for the team during the championships which ran from March 19-22 at the IU Natatorium. The seventh place finish for the Stags is a jump up from last season's 10th place finish.

Sophomore Alex Poltash posted a school record time of 44.70 in the 100-yard freestyle to place in sixth in the championship finals. In the finals he finished in sixth, despite swimming a faster time than he did in the preliminaries where he tied for third with a time of 44.79.

Later in the day in the 400-yard freestyle relay championship finals, Poltash, freshman Matthew Williams, junior Patrick Shultz and sophomore Joseph Hinton finished in eighth with a time of 3:01.30, slightly ahead of their preliminary time.
