CMS Soccer Partnering with Grassroot Soccer

CLAREMONT, Calif. – Tonight the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps women's and men's soccer teams take the field against Cal Lutheran and Redlands, respectively. In addition to supporting the Stags and the Athenas on the pitch tonight the team is asking you to help support them in a special cause in raising funds for Grassroot Soccer.

Grassroot Soccer is an international adolescent health organization that educates, inspires, and mobilizes young people to overcome their greatest health challenges and live healthier, more productive lives. Grassroot Soccer's work in Southern Africa and throughout the world connects at-risk young people with the mentors, information, and health services they need to thrive, and empowers adolescents to make educated choices about pressing health challenges such as HIV/AIDS, sexual health, gender-based violence, and malaria. To date, Grassroot Soccer has reached more than 2 million young people in 50 countries.

Every $25 raised empowers one young person with life-changing health and life-skills programming as well as access to Grassroot Soccer's world-class Caring Coaches.

You can help the men and women reach their goal of raising $5,000 by making a donation here. Learn more about Grassroot Soccer here.

The double-header begins at 5:00 p.m. with the Athenas hosting Cal Lutheran followed by the Stags hosting Redlands.
