Stags soccer raises $5,000 at Cycle for Survival

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's soccer team helped in the battle to cure cancer by participating with 31,000 other people from across the country in the 2017 Cycle for Survival. Held at the West LA, Equinox, the Cycle for Survival is an indoor team cycling event in which each team shares rides a stationary bike in four back-to-back 50-minute sessions relay-style. With each team needing to raise more than $1,000 per bike, the Stags were able to raise just over $5,000 for the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

"Not only is this a wonderful cause to support but a really fun event. Our guys learned a ton about the impact of their fundraising efforts and certainly broke a sweat in the process!" said Head Coach Matt Edwards. "We look forward to attending next year's event".

The high energy indoor cycling events provide a tangible way for everyone to fight back against rare cancers. Every dollar raised goes directly to lifesaving research studies and clinical trials within six month of the annual events in February and March. Cycle for Survival has raised more than $140 million for rare cancer research since it started in 2007, with over $34 million raised this season alone.
