Shaw and Shuman selected as honorable mention All-Americans

NORMAN, Okla. – Rising seniors Jonathan Shaw (CMC '18) and Matt Shuman (CMC '18) have earned Division III Ping honorable mention All-America awards for their performances in leading the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team during the 2017 season. The announcement came on June 21 from the Golf Coaches Association of American (GCAA).

This is the third time that Shaw has been selected as an All-American: 2016 (third team), 2015 (honorable mention). For Shuman, it is his first All-America award.

Additionally, Shaw was honored as a Division III Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar back in May. Shaw continued the tradition of All-America Scholars in the Stags' program. Only 44 players across the country made the list; only juniors and seniors who have lower than a 79.0 stroke average were eligible for the award. In addition, they must have a 3.2 GPA for their first 3 years of college and compete in 50 percent of the team's competitions.

The 2017 conference champion Stags finished tied for 12th at the NCAA Division III Championships in May.
