Rising seniors Jonathan Shaw (CMC ’18) and Matt Shuman (CMC ’18) have earned Division III Ping honorable mention All-America awards for their performances in leading the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team during the 2017 season.

During the 2016-17 academic year, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps athletic department won 14 hard-fought regular season championships in the Southern Californian Intercollegiate and its athletes were honored with many outstanding awards.

Brenner helps Stags to team-low 298 in final round

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team concluded their run through the NCAA Championship tied for 12th place as the Stags played their lowest-scoring round on the final day with a 298.

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team finished the third round of the 2017 NCAA Championships with a 303, climbing up one spot to be tied at 12th place on the leaderboard on Thursday afternoon.
Stags make cut and sit in 13th at NCAAs

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team made the 18-team cut at the 2017 NCAA Championships with a 310 on Wednesday’s round on the El Campeon course. CMS now sits in 13th place at +35 after the first two days of the tournament.
Just eight strokes back after day one at NCAA Championships

Only 11 strokes separated the top 15 teams after the first day at the 2017 NCAA Men's Golf Championships. The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's golf team came in at 301 (+13) despite the wind to sit in a tie for 11th out of 42 teams. The leader, Huntingdon College, sits at +5 after the first round.
Shaw and Morkovine earn CoSIDA All-District honors

Senior men's tennis player Daniel Morkovine (CMC) and junior men's golfer Jonathan Shaw (CMC) earned Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Information Directors of America.
No. 12 Stags on quest to repeat at NCAA Championship

Following a SCIAC Championship title, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team will head to Howey-In-The-Hills, Florida to participate in the 2017 NCAA Division III Men’s Golf Championships at Mission Inn Resort & Club from May 16-19.

Five members of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team were named to the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletics Conference’s First and Second Team as announced on May 5. Head Coach Bim Jollymour was also named the conference’s Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
Phase 1 of the CMS on-campus golf facility now complete

Phase 1 of the new golf practice facility for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athena and Stag golf programs on the campus of Claremont McKenna College is now complete. Both the Stags and Athenas had the opportunity to use the new facility for the first time on Friday, April 28.
Shaw and Shuman announced as Jack Nicklaus Award Semifinalists

On Friday, juniors Jonathan Shaw (CMC) and Matt Shuman (CMC) were announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America as Semifinalists for the Jack Nicklaus Award presented by Barbasol. They are two of just thirty semifinalists nationwide in Division III, and the only ones from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
Stags clinch SCIAC Title, earn automatic qualification

The usually quiet Los Serranos Country Club broke out in applause and celebration as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team won its 12th Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference title, punching its ticket to the NCAA Championship.

After a fourth place finish in the first day of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s golf team came back on Monday with a much-improved performance and scored 291 to climb up to first place.
