Beck tied for 7th, Stags in 19th after first day of NCAA Men’s Golf Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. – After the first day of the NCAA Division III Men's Golf Championships on May 13, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sat in 19th place out of 41 teams with a combined first round team score of 300 on the par-72 course at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, N.C.

Sophomore Justin Beck led the Stags in the first round with 2-under par score of 70 which put him in a tie for 7th in the 200-plus golfer field after the first 18 holes. Beck was the only Stag golfer under par in the first round. Defending Division III national champion Bradley Shigezawa was second on the team with a 76 while senior Jordan Stein, sophomore Kethan Reddy and junior Ben Ho all shot 5-over par rounds of 77.
