Miles President Earns CMS Men's Scholar-Athlete of the Year Honor from SCIAC

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Senior men's basketball guard Miles President was one of 18 student-athletes to earn SCIAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year accolades from the conference, which awards the honor to one male and one female student-athlete from each of its nine member institutions each year.

President was a third-team Academic All-America selection by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) this winter, carrying a 3.94 GPA as a computer science major at Harvey Mudd while finishing his career as a four-year starter for the men's basketball team. He became only the third player in CMS men's basketball history to earn Academic All-America distinction, joining Bob Donlan (2002) and Tyler Gaffaney (2015). 

During his career, President helped CMS to a pair of SCIAC titles and NCAA Division III Tournament berths, and was twice named to the All-SCIAC team. A year ago, his work as a defensive stopper helped the Stags lead the nation in team defense, allowing just over 60 points per game. This year, he became only the 20th player in program history to score 1000 career points, a milestone which he reached on his Senior Day against Redlands. 

President was joined on the SCIAC Scholar-Athlete of the Year list from CMS by Phoebe Madsen of the volleyball team.
