Jeremy Horn Named SCIAC Offensive Player of the Week for CMS Men's Basketball

CLAREMONT, Calif. - Junior forward Jeremy Horn was named the SCIAC Men's Basketball Offensive Player of the Week after a strong performance at the Chicago Midway Classic, the league office announced today.

Horn earned the honor after scoring 20 points on 9-12 shooting and adding nine rebounds in a decisive 85-64 win over Springfield on the second day of the Midway Classic on Sunday. He also had 11 points and nine rebounds in an opening-day loss to host University of Chicago. Over the two games, he averaged 15.5 points per game in just 21.5 minutes (or 28.8 points per 40 minutes), as well as 9.0 rebounds.

After coming off the bench his first two seasons, Horn made his first two career starts to begin the 2018-19 campaign following the graduation of four seniors off of last year's squad. He averaged 3.4 points on 55.4 percent shooting last season, while appearing in 25 contests.

The Stags will next be in action this weekend when they co-host the David Wells Classic, entertaining Whitman on Friday for a 7 p.m. contest, and then meeting Willamette on Saturday at 4:30 at Pomona-Pitzer.
