Stags headed to Walla Walla to face Whitworth in NCAA First Round
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – In the NCAA Selection Show on Monday morning, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's basketball team (22-4) learned they are headed to Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash. to face Whitworth University (23-4) in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
The Stags were the SCIAC regular season champs at 13-3 and then won the SCIAC Postseason Tournament beating Pomona-Pitzer 70-64 in the semifinal and then Cal Lutheran 77-71 in the final.
CMS was last in the NCAA Tournament in 2015 and faced Texas Lutheran 79-55 in the First Round and then matched up with the Regional host, East Texas Baptist in the Second Round, losing 80-75.
