The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) has had 15 champions since the start of the new millennium and the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags men’s basketball team has been that champion eight times.
Lane to play in international goodwill basketball tour

Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball player Shelby Lane (CMC) is joining a team made up of collegiate players from Division I, II and III on a goodwill tour through Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, and England through the Global Sports Academy.

Gaffaney named to Bennett Rank’s All-America First Team

Tyler Gaffaney’s accolades continue to pile up as Bennett Rank named him to their Division III All-America First Team on April 6. Bennett Rank is a ranking algorithm and sports media site that delves into the data of college basketball, football and soccer across all NCAA divisions.
SCIAC releases All-Academic selections for the winter sports

A total of 33 student-athletes from the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges were honored on the 2014-15 Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) All-Academic teams for the winter sports.
Gaffaney makes list of Division III’s best

Just days after being named All-West Region, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball player Tyler Gaffaney (CGU) has been selected to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division III All-America Second Team. Then on March 23, D3hoops.com selected Gaffaney to its All-America team as well as a second-teamer.

Gaffaney, Lane and Scalmanini earn All-SCIAC honors

Ken Scalmanini, Tyler Gaffaney and Shelby Lane earned awards from the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) for men’s basketball, announced on Mar. 5. Gaffaney earns his second consecutive SCIAC Athlete of the Year award and Shelby Lane joins with a Second Team honor. Ken Scalmanini is named SCIAC Coach of the Year.

Back in NCAA Division III Basketball Championship play for the first time since 2012, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men's basketball team is facing Texas Lutheran at East Texas Baptist in Marshall, Texas on Friday, March 6 at 5 p.m. CST in the first round of the NCAAs.

After a two season hiatus, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team is returning to the NCAA Division III Men’s Basketball Championships after defeating top-seeded Chapman 71-66 in the finals of the SCIAC Postseason Tournament on Feb. 28 at the Hutton Center.
