At the end of February, head coach Ken Scalmanini and the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team completed the program’s 16th winning season in a row, 15th under his leadership. During his 15 seasons as head coach, Scalmanini has led CMS to six SCIAC titles, including four-straight from 2009-12.

Comeback Falls Short As Redlands Tops CMS For SCIAC Tourney Championship

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team nearly pulled off a second half comeback for the second-straight night in the SCIAC Postseason Tournament. Instead, the University of Redlands held on for a 73-64 win over CMS on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Currier Gymnasium to win the SCIAC Postseason Tournament championship and advance to the NCAA Division III Championships which begin next week.

A three-pointer by Kevin Sullivan with 15 seconds left in the game gave the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team a 62-60 win over Whittier College in the semifinals of the SCIAC Men’s Basketball Postseason Tournament on Friday night at Ducey Gym.

Second Half Struggles For CMS Give Redlands Win And SCIAC Regular Season Title

Much like in the first meeting of the season, a five-minute stretch in the second half cost the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team the game against the University of Redlands. On Saturday night, the five-minute lapse not only cost CMS the game, it also cost the team a chance to win the SCIAC Co-Championship as Redlands pulled away for a 76-64 win at Ducey Gymnasium in the SCIAC regular season finale for both teams.

A 22-2 run in the second half by the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team turned what had been a double-digit first half deficit into a 65-54 win over Pomona-Pitzer in SCIAC play on Wednesday night at Voelkel Gymnasium.

Mivshek’s Big Second Half Leads CMS Over La Verne

The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team pulled away in the second half for a 76-68 SCIAC win over La Verne on Saturday night at Ducey Gymnasium. With the win, CMS is now 16-6 overall and 12-2 in SCIAC, while La Verne drops to 8-14, 6-7 in conference.

First Half Run Secures CMS Win Over Chapman As Win Streak Hits 10

For the first several minutes of the first half, the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps men’s basketball team and Chapman University traded leads. A 12-2 run over a five minute span midway through the first half then gave CMS the lead for good as the team came away with a 68-56 win over Chapman on Wednesday night at Ducey Gymnasium.
