The men's basketball team defeated the 14th-ranked Occidental Tigers 68-51 on Wednesday. In a reversal of their first meeting, where the Stags trailed by one at the half only to lose by 15, CMS led by two at the half and then dominated the second frame.

The men's basketball team got back on the winning track with a 59-50 home win over the University of La Verne on Saturday. The team improved to 11-8 overall and 3-5 in SCIAC while La Verne dropped to 3-16 and 2-6.

The men's basketball team is off to a strong start this season winning their first four contests. They were 2-0 at both the Caltech Tournament and the David Wells Classic.
