Bio

After a standout career with the CMS football team as a left tackle, Jacob Lyle stayed on board with the program as an assistant coach in 2022, working primarily with the tight ends.

Lyle earned All-America honors from D3football.com in 2021 (fourth team), as well as first-team All-SCIAC honors. He spent four years as the team's starting left tackle, paving the way for 1000-yard rushers Garrett Cheadle (2018) and Justin Edwards (2021), earning second-team All-SCIAC honors in 2019.

Lyle was part of an offensive line that helped CMS lead the entire nation in time of possession in 2019 (all divisions), as well as producing over 200 yards rushing a game in 2021 while allowing only eight quarterback sacks in 10 games.

In addition to his football accolades, Lyle was also an Academic All-District selection as a government and economics dual major at Claremont McKenna, and was a four-year member of the SCIAC All-Academic team. He is originally from Ventura, California, where he played for Buena High School.
