Wei and Stanek land on CoSIDA Academic All-District™ Football Teams

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The 2015 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District™ Football Teams were released on Nov. 5 and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football players Henry Wei (CMC) and Tyler Stanek (CMC) were selected to the District 8 region team. District 8 represents teams from the West Region. This award recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.

Of the 29 student-athletes on the District 8 team, there were a total of three SCIAC players including Wei and Stanek. Wei, a junior defensive lineman who is an economics & finance major, has 3.67 grade-point average. On the field this season, he has 35 tackles, three sacks and one pass breakup. He had 10 tackles and two sacks in the win at Chapman.

Stanek is a senior punter and wide receiver with a 3.49 GPA (he was selected as a punter) as an economics & accounting major. This season, CMS is third in the conference in punt average with Stanek handling the punting duties. He has booted seven punts inside the opponents' 20-yard line. As a receiver, Stanek is the team's second-leading receiver with 23 receptions and three touchdowns.

The second place Stags head on the road on Nov. 7 for a 1 p.m. game at Whittier.
