CLAREMONT, Calif. – Senior linebacker and special teams leader Nick Nasse (CMC) of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps football team has been selected to the 2014 D3football.com All-West Region second team as a special teams player, D3football.com announced on Dec. 8. It is the first-such honor for Nasse and first D3football.com All-Region recipient for CMS since 2011, when Sam Jolly was named to the offensive second team as a guard.

At the beginning of December, Nasse earned first team All-Conference honors for his play on special teams. He had three blocked punts on the season, 37 total tackles, four pass breakups and one sack on defense and special teams. Nasse had blocked punts in 2014 against Chapman, Redlands and Cal Lutheran.

The ninth annual D3football.com All-Region Teams are compiled of players who were nominated for these awards by the sports information directors at the various schools. A record 984 players were nominated nationwide this season.

All-Region teams were selected in balloting by sports information directors in each of the four regions and D3football.com staff. All players nominated for All-Region are eligible to be considered for the D3football.com All-America Team.

Nasse is just one of two SCIAC players to be named All-Region in 2014.
