CMS Sweeps La Verne

The men's and women's soccer teams each picked up their first SCIAC victory of the season with wins over the University of La Verne. The Stags won 1-0 at home while the Athenas won on the road 3-2.

Nicole Esclamado (SR, Napa) recorded a first half hat trick against the Leopards. She headed in passes from Amanda Drasny (SO, San Jose) and Megan Kum (JR, South Pasadena) and also scored an unassisted goal. CMS is now 3-3-1 overall and 1-2 in SCIAC.

Nick Yavorsky (SR, Wilsonville, OR) had the game-winner for the Stags as he converted a pass from Ian Norville (SR, Portland, OR). Cam Whelan-Miille had five saves and recorded his first shutout of the season. CMS is now 2-3 overall and 1-1 in SCIAC.

Both teams play Whittier on Saturday at 11 am. The Stags are on the road while the Athenas are home on Pritzlaff Field.
