Athenas 1-0-1 in Husson Tournament

The Athenas traveled to Maine over the weekend to take part in the Husson College tournament and came away with a win and a tie. They opened play with a 3-2 win over Western New England College and finished with a 2-2 tie against host Husson.
Megan Kum (JR, South Pasadena) was the offensive star for the Athenas. She scored the game-winner against Western New England with 31 seconds remaining and then scored both goals against Husson. Nicole Esclamado (SR, Napa) and Nicole Sady-Kennedy (FR, Ladera Ranch) also scored goals. Assists were provided by Esclamado, Carrie Culver (SR, Fair Oaks), Katherine Jarvis (JR, Monrovia) and Giselle Galanto (FR, Duarte). Erica Jones (FR, Tempe, AZ) recorded eight saves against Husson while Kim Lenahan (FR, McDonough, GA) recorded two saves against W. New England.
CMS is now 2-1-1 overall. They open SCIAC play on Wednesday at Pomona-Pitzer. Game time is 4:00. Their first home SCIAC game will be on Saturday, September 16 against Redlands at 11:00.
