Stags Manage to Get Draw
The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Stags held the Whittier Poets to a
draw in Wednesday’s battle at Pritzlaff. The game was one of
many chances, but no goals as it ended 0-0. Although Whittier is
known as the Poets, it was the Stags who put poetry in motion with
their brilliant possession. The birth child of Cristiano Ronaldo
and Emily Dickinson would have been proud to see the Stags move the
ball with such elegance. In the second period of overtime, David
Taylor (FR, Brookline, MA) almost ended the game as his laser beam
shot zapped the crossbar and was cleared off the line by the
threatened Poet defense. Ryan Fahey (SR, Bellevue, WA) continued
his impressive form as he held his third shutout in a row.
The Stags hope to get back to winning ways as they play the
Occidental Tigers this coming Saturday, October 3 at 11:00.
