Smith named to first D3baseball.com Team of the Week in 2015

CLAREMONT, Calif. - In the first D3baseball.com Team of the Week of the 2015 season, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps freshman outfielder Trey Smith (CMC) has been selected to the team for his impressive start to the season. The first Team of the Week of 2015 includes all games played over the first few weeks of the season.

Smith was 15-for-30 (.500) for the Stags over their first eight games. He slugged .933 (two double, a triple and three home runs). He scored eight times and drove in six.

For the week of Feb. 9-15, he hit .700 (7-for-10) in the three games with two home runs, three RBI, four runs scored and three walks. His best game of the three-game series against Pomona-Pitzer came in a 10-6 loss on Feb. 14 at Arce Field. He went 3-for-3 in the game with two RBI (RBI single and solo homer) and also had two walks. In eight games so far this season, Smith is now hitting .500 with three home runs and six RBI.
