Scott Witte named to All-SCIAC second team

PASADENA, Calif. – Senior infielder Scott Witte of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team has been named to the All-SCIAC second team, the conference announced on May 8.

Witte started all 39 games for the Stags in 2014 and hit .313 with five homers, 31 RBI, 11 doubles, 45 hits and 39 runs scored and 31 walks. He had an on-base percentage of .454 and a slugging percentage of .507. Witte finished in the top-10 in the SCIAC for homers and had 12 multi-hit games over the course of the season, including a season-high 5-for-6 effort against Middlebury. In the game against Middlebury, Witte also had four runs scored and five RBI.

The Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was established in 1915. The league is currently comprised of nine private colleges and universities in Southern California: California Institute of Technology, California Lutheran University, Chapman University, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges, University of La Verne, Occidental College, Pomona-Pitzer Colleges, University of Redlands, and Whittier College. The conference recognizes outstanding athletic achievements of its student-athletes on a weekly and annual basis.
