Stags fall to powerful Kingsmen

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team lost to SCIAC's top seed Cal Lutheran 15-3 on Wednesday afternoon in the first game of Round Robin play. The Kingsmen held the Stags to just five hits while they amassed 20 on the day for the seven inning victory. The highlight of the CMS offense was an RBI triple by senior Yoni Hendel to score the Stags' first run.

Cal Lu's potent offense struck early and often. The Kingsmen, nationally ranked ninth for team batting average at .346, put up at least two runs in five of the seven innings. Four batsmen had three-hit days at the plate including the pitcher Jake Peterson who pitched five shutout innings against the Stags.

Sophomore Jesse Crabtree pitched the final inning and a third and kept the Kingsmen scoreless through the end of the game.

Bos Score

CMS (13-23, 9-16) has three remaining Round Robin games. The Stags travel to Redlands and Whittier this weekend and return home to play Occidental on April 29 for the final game of the season.
